The Author:

Jeanne Stanley, Ph.D. is the CEO of Watershed Counseling and Consultation Services, a licensed psychologist, national trainer, consultant, published author and holds the appointment of Full Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education.
Her 30+years of teaching, research, academic writing, and clinical work focuses on a sense of belonging and understanding, the intersecting identities of queer, bi/multi-racial, sexually diverse, and gender diverse individuals. This book is an extension of that work and is written as a historical novel so that readers may better understand Stormé DeLarverie’s life in relation to the times in which she lived as well as our current times.
Dr. Stanley is the recipient of the Educator of the Year Award from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education where she has been a director of two graduate counseling programs and taught several graduate courses over the years. She is also creator of the BASIS (Belonging and Sociocultural Identities in Schools) training program and is known for being an engaging presenter for businesses, universities, school districts, and conferences.
